Introduction
Villey Pty Limited (ACN 666 367 906) (referred to as “Villey”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy
and is committed to protecting the privacy of your personal information in accordance with the
Privacy Act 1988 and Australian Privacy Principles.
We provide this privacy policy (“Policy”) so you know about our online information practices and
understand how we treat the information we receive about you in connection with your use of
www.villey.co and Villey mobile app (referred to in this Policy as “the Platform”), or otherwise
when you interact with us.
For the purpose of this policy;

“Platform” refers to the mobile Villey application and website (www.villey.co)

“You” refers to any user, visitor to the Villey Platform, website or mobile application.

“Client” refers to any person utilising the Platform to seek support.

“Helper” refers to any person utilising the Platform to provide support and earn an

“Services” refers to the service offerings provided by helpers to clients.

This Privacy Policy applies to the Villey platform and mobile application, connecting trusted,
local and vetted Helpers with Clients, to provide domestic and family care services.
This Policy may be updated periodically. We will post any changes on our Platform and, if
necessary, notify you via email. We will obtain your consent if required by applicable law.

Consent
By using our Platform or any of our services, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you
do not agree to this Policy, please refrain from accessing or using our Platform or interacting
with any aspect of our business.

Information Collection and how it is used
We collect your personal information when you use our Platform or interact with us in other
ways. This includes information you provide directly to us, such as when you register for an
account, send us an email, lodge a request or feedback, make an enquiry, sign-up to
newsletters or marketing materials, enter a promotion or competition, post a job, book a service,
update your profile or apply for a job. We may also collect information about your device and
online activity when you interact with our Platform.
We may also collect information from a third-party through such cross-promotions, debit and
credit card service providers, identity verification providers, market research companies
engaged by Villey.
When using our Platform, you may be prompted to provide personal information, such as your
name, address, email address, phone number, and other relevant details, to facilitate our
business operations and activities.
Additional information may also be required.

Helpers and Clients
Helpers: Individuals registering as a Helper on the Villey platform will be asked to complete an identification verification process through the Stripe Australia platform. Additional optional steps include the option to provide certification of a recent Nationally Recognised Police Check. Villey verifies the validity, to ensure it is a Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) National Police Check in order to determine your suitability to become a Helper. The process of applying for a new National Police Check can be done via the Cited integration and will include (at least) 100 points of identification to process this identity check.
For Helpers looking to work with children services, a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) will need to be verified via the Cited integration or via the Villey portal to ensure its validity. Villey reserves the right to decline any application at our own discretion. Please review the Cited Privacy Policy in relation to identification processes carried out through the Cited integration.
Helpers will also be required to link their bank account details for payments to be made to them periodically as they complete jobs. Helpers will also be requested to provide theirAustralian Business Number (ABN) at time of sign up (optional).
Clients: Individuals use the Platform as a “Client” (booking a service, seeking support), you will be required to provide the Helper with your address, name and details within a service agreement. You will also be required to link your valid Credit or Debit card to the Stripe Payments Australia integration for online payments.

Whilst Villey takes all reasonable steps to ensure the security of your information, Villey will not be held responsible for information you provide us over the internet and the provision of this information is at your own risk.
Complete profiles with all mandatory fields will be required to use the application to its full capacity. If you do not provide us with some or all of your profile information, Villey may not be able to provide you with the service as intended.
The Villey Platform is for users over the age of 18 years of age. No person under the age of 18 years of age is permitted to use the Platform to book jobs or apply for jobs.

Protecting your information and keeping it up to date
It is your responsibility to protect the security of any Villey account you create, including using a robust password and preventing unauthorised access to that account. Whilst Villey takes all required action to protect the information provided by you over the internet, the provision of this information is at your own risk.
Keep your information up to date through your account profile and “edit your profile” on the mobile application settings page. It is solely your responsibility (both Helper and Client) to keep your information up to date. Villey will take no responsibility for inaccurate information portrayed in your profile.

Social Media Contacts
We leverage social networking platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn to engage with the public about Villey and our services. When you interact with us through these platforms, we may collect personal information from you. Additionally, the respective social networking services will also handle your personal information according to their own privacy policies.

Cookies
Our Platform utilises cookies and related technologies, including Google Analytics, to enhance your user experience and gain insights into Platform traffic and usage. These tools gather information such as the IP address of your device, the websites you visited before accessing our Platform, the pages you viewed on our Platform, and the subsequent websites you visit.
Additionally, cookies may store your passwords or enable you to adjust text size, among other functionalities. By using our Platform, you consent to the processing of your data by these cookies and related technologies, including Google Analytics. If you prefer not to have your information collected using these technologies, most internet browsers offer a straightforward procedure for automatically declining or providing you with the option to accept or decline them. For Google Analytics specifically, you can opt out by disabling or refusing the cookie, disabling JavaScript, or utilising Google's opt-out service available at Google Opt-Out.
Please note that disabling cookies in your internet browser may limit the functionality of our Platform.
Why collect the information?
Disclosing your personal information to other users on this Platform will happen as necessary in order for the functions of the application to operate as intended.
Ways your information may be used include;

To deliver our services, including setting up and managing accounts, sharing information about helpers, supporting job listings and applications, conducting credit checks, processing payments, and collecting any overdue or outstanding amounts.

Improving our services through feedback and reviews. You consent for us to carry out activities for which you have provided consent, for example, Villey reserves the right to publish testimonials about the Platform to our website and marketing materials.

Email marketing and email updates will be sent from time to time to provide you with the most relevant and up to date information about changes, or updates to the platform, including news, service updates, application updates or service information.

In order to verify credentials we collaborate with a reputable third-party organisation, Cited, to verify and monitor relevant details.
Disclosure to third parties
We safeguard your personal information and refrain from selling, trading, or otherwise disclosing it to external parties. This exception applies to trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our Platform, conducting our business, or servicing you, provided they agree to maintain the confidentiality of your information. These trusted third-parties are located in Australia, and we do not transmit any of your personal information overseas.

Please note that this Privacy Policy does not extend to third-party websites, products, or services that link to our Platform. We encourage you to review the privacy practices of these third parties before interacting with them.
We may release your information when we believe such disclosure is necessary to comply with the law, enforce our Platform policies, or protect our rights, property, or safety, as well as those of others. Non-personally identifiable information may be shared with other parties for marketing, advertising, or other purposes.
Deleting personal information and Opt-Out
You can unsubscribe from any direct marketing communications we may send you by following the instructions provided in each communication.
You have the option to delete your account and/or request that we erase your personal information from our records at any time. However, there may be instances where we are legally required or have a compelling legitimate reason to retain certain information, limiting the scope of deletion.
To safeguard against unintentional or malicious data destruction, we retain residual copies of your information on our active services for a brief period even after you exercise your right to account deletion or personal data erasure.
Apart from the aforementioned instances, we retain your personal information for as long as it is required for the purposes for which it was collected or lawfully processed, or for as long as necessary to fulfill our legal obligations or enable us to pursue, defend, or exercise legal claims.

Periodically this Policy may change to adapt to changes in our business. We therefore retain the right to update our Privacy Policy without notice. All personal information collected and held will be governed by the most recent and up to date Privacy Policy, accessible on the Villey Platform.
